Friday 26 June
It was a late start in the evening by the time we finished work, but when we went on the website for the site by Brean Sands, there was no set closing time, it only said "dusk". Confident that midsummer light would mean light until gone 9pm we set off. Traffic not good but we got there about 8.30pm and I went to knock on the door of the site manager as there was a height restriction barrier at the entrance.

However, when I asked if there were any available spaces he said "Not at this time of night, NO!" He slammed the door in my face and there we were stumped on where to go next.
We drove down through Burnham on Sea, but it was mostly caravans and statics.
Getting dark now at 9.45 we headed inland and happened to come across

and what a welcoming place it was. When we explained our predicament we were made extremely welcome, by the lady owner in her dressing gown, who said we could stay for £10 as we were so late.
It was quite near the busy road but you could not hear it when in the van. Showers and toilets, small but clean.

It is for adults only, no kids, so peaceful for all. Quick visit to the takeaway in Highbridge and we were done.
Saturday 27 June
We were up early to take advantage of the lovely sunny weather and put in an instant good mood, when on going to pay, we were only charged £5! What a lovely lady!
Headed down to Brean Sands and the beach was almost empty. You can park on the sands for a low price £3 I think it was

Had a lovely morning and lunch on the beach and actually got a bit sunburnt!
Mini breaks are good:)
